Troy Everett talks about that devastating loss to South Carolina

Oklahoma’s Troy Everett spoke to the media after the game about how tough it was to play the South Carolina defense and how proud he was of Jackson Arnold for coming into the game.

How tough was it on the offensive line going against that South Carolina D line?

Troy: Yeah, they’re a great group. We did a lot of things that we just kind of shot ourselves in the foot. But that’s a great group, I’m not going to take anything away from it. They beat us fair and square but yeah it’s frustrating.

There are going to be a lot of critics of this coaching staff and this team. What is your belief level and confidence in this staff to get this thing figured out?

Troy: I have full belief in this staff, I mean complete belief. It’s not the coaches, they are doing the work. As players, we’ve got to make better plays. It’s as simple as just executing at a higher level.

What could a day like this mean for Jackson?

Troy: I don’t know the situation of what’s going on there. I’m proud of him for being ready . When he came over there, he came up to at me he’s like, here we go just go out there have fun. That’s all you can do, it’s football, it’s game. You’re going to have fun. He could obviously sit over there and mope but he’s going to have fun. He was prepared and he was ready so I was proud of him.
