NEW BEDFORD — Last weekend, the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism took over the Whaling Museum and Dartmouth Orchards to shoot a commercial highlighting attractions in the state.
Actor Kevin Lasit , a longtime actor and Cape Cod resident, appeared in a scene.
“It was cool to be back there, because the last time I remember going, I was with my two kids, and they were so young,” Lasit said. “I have so many memories with them at the Whaling Museum. It felt very nostalgic being back there.”
The commercial, which aimed to showcase some of the state’s most famous sites like Plymouth Rock, Boston locations and the Berkshires, had three different days of filming with multiple locations.
“Being able to film in New Bedford was a proud moment for me,” he said. “After 35 years of doing this, I actually had a chance to do extra work instead and it was fun to do with everyone.”

Lasit’s scene was shot in the museum lobby, where he said they filming the hanging whales, and the whale heart where kids can crawl inside.
