Princess Cruises’ Newest Boat Makes Dazzling North American Debut in Florida

The stunning Sun Princess, the newest ship in the Princess Cruises fleet, has officially made its North American debut in Fort Lauderdale after a successful inaugural Mediterranean season. This engineering marvel, weighing 177,882 tons and accommodating 4,300 guests, first set sail in the Mediterranean in February 2024, where it was welcomed by award-winning actress Hannah Waddingham, who served as godmother during a star-studded naming ceremony in Barcelona in April.

The Sun Princess will offer a series of seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, running from October 14 through early April 2025. Joseph Morris, CEO and Port Director of Port Everglades, emphasized the significance of welcoming the ship to its homeport, noting the elevated design and the legacy of Princess Cruises.
