According to Hoodline , a new eatery listed as Flora King per a liquor license notice is debuting in The Castro.
Coming to 4248 18th Street , the restaurant will take over the former Vico Cavone space, landing near establishments such as Mollie Stone’s Markets, Takara Sushi SF, and The Hotel Castro.
Flora King’s Co-Owner, Ignacio ‘Iggy’ Garat — who will operate the business alongside his wife Angela Pryor-Garat — tells What Now San Francisco , “We are not ready to report anything yet,” however, he promises to loop us in when the business is closer to opening.
Nevertheless, Pryor-Garat confirms with Hoodline that the new restaurant will be called Flora King, after her great-grandmother. She shares, “She was a pioneer in Argentina that came from Scotland—We owe much to her.”
“Public records indicate Garat applied for the Type 41 beer and wine license on October 8 and the application is currently pending. Garat did not transfer the Type 47 license from Vico Cavone owners Alessandro Raimondi and Sanaa Hams,” Hoodline reports.
