Dry, warm weather will continue across Northern California today, but changes are on the way as a shortwave trough approaches. Tonight into Monday, areas along the coast—especially Del Norte and northern Humboldt counties—are expected to see light to moderate rain, with totals reaching up to 0.75 inches in some higher elevations near the Smith River. Winds along the coast will also increase, with gusts between 20 to 30 mph in exposed areas.
Temperatures will cool into early next week following the rain, and forecasters are eyeing the potential for another system later in the week that could bring additional rainfall.
