Russia Claims Downed Drones, Ukraine Reports Strikes
Russia’s defense ministry says it shot down all 110 Ukrainian drones that targeted Russian territory overnight. However, Ukraine claims successful attacks on a munitions plant and military airfield in western Russia.
Targeted Sites
The plant in Nizhny Novgorod, known for producing weapons, was targeted in the strikes. The Lipetsk airfield, which houses ammunition depots and aviation equipment, was also hit.
Russia’s Response
Russia claims it intercepted all drones, downing them over various regions, including Kursk, Belgorod, and Moscow. Despite these claims, Ukraine maintains that the strikes were successful.
Casualties and Damage
Ukraine reports minor shrapnel injuries to four plant employees, while Russia claims no casualties or damage in most of the targeted regions. However, the extent of damage at the munitions plant and airfield is still being assessed.
Russian Counter-Attacks
Russia has retaliated with attacks on central Ukraine, injuring at least 17 people in Kryvyi Rih.
International Involvement
Ukraine has accused Iran of supplying Russia with drones, while Iran denies the allegations. President Zelensky calls for international support to destroy Iran’s production and logistics infrastructure for these drones.
