DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A North Carolina man is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer early Monday morning, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover said.
Alpha Omega Nelson, 57, of Fayetteville, has been identified by the Darlington County Coroner as the driver of a 2015 Harley Davidson. Nelson was driving at 2 a.m. about 2 miles north of Lamar, traveling east on Interstate 20 near mile marker 130.
A 2022 Freightliner tractor-trailer was merging onto the highway from a commercial rest area when it collided with the motorcycle.
Both drivers were traveling alone. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
