A news release by the City of Frederick Government published on Thursday October 17th announced the reopening of Shookstown Rd. The full release can be read below:
“The City of Frederick is pleased to announce that construction on the closed portion of Shookstown Road between Waverley Drive and Kemp Lane is now complete, and the road is reopening today—one month ahead of the originally scheduled completion date.
The section of Shookstown Road was closed in June to facilitate road improvements requested by Gambrill View Development and was originally slated for completion in mid-November.
During the closure, motorists were provided a detour route to navigate around the construction. With the reopening, any detour-related signs will be removed, and traffic will resume normal flow along Shookstown Road.”
