Catherine Campbell King, 97, passed away at home on Sept. 22, 2024. Catherine was born on June 27, 1927, in Harnett County, to the late Leslie Hartwell Campbell and Ora Green Campbell. Leslie Campbell was the second president of Campbell University. Catherine was the granddaughter of J.A. Campbell and Cornelia P. Campbell. J.A. Campbell was founder of Campbell University. Also, preceding her in death was her husband, Robert (Bob) Lee King Jr.; and her sibling, A. Hartwell Campbell, Betsy Campbell Dail, Ora Green Campbell Ellyson and James A. Campbell.
