When police arrived and attempted to make contact with the man, he ran into a back room and refused to comply with officers.
A fight began between the man and officers who were attempting to handcuff him. Police say officers used a Taser on the man before the man grabbed the Taser and pointed it at an officer. That is when the officer-involved shooting occurred.
The man, who has not been identified at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two officers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but they have since been released.
This was the second officer-involved shooting in the Valley Sunday. Chandler police were involved in a shooting in the morning, though no injuries were reported.
