Search continues for missing Laurel Fire Company Fire Police Captain Tony Bortner

A search continues for Laurel Fire Company No. 1 Fire Police Captain Tony Bortner, who has been missing since Thursday.

The fire company posted on Facebook over the weekend about Bortner’s disappearance, saying he has not had contact with anyone and it is “very out of character for Tony.”

Bortner, 50, is from Windsor, Pa., according to Pennsylvania State Police. He is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds.

Troopers found Bortner’s red 2008 Subaru Forester on Saturday at Lock 12 in Lower Chanceford Township, and search and rescue teams have been looking for him, according to state police and the fire department. Law enforcement brought in K-9 units to help.

The fire company posted on Sunday afternoon that it does not have any further updates.

“We appreciate the love and support the community has shown,” the post states. “We have no further updates beyond a search is underway near his vehicle.”

Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at (717) 428-1011.
