UPDATE: 18-year-old struck, killed in Upper Valley

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – An 18-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Friday morning, Oct. 18 in El Paso’s Upper Valley, El Paso Police said.

EPPD said the crash happened at 12:35 a.m. Friday at the 600 block of Country Club Rd.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian was in the roadway when a driver struck and killed the person, according to EPPD. The pedestrian died at the scene, police said.

EPPD didn’t identify the pedestrian by name or gender, just as an 18-year-old.

The Special Traffic Investigations unit continues looking into this crash.

Police said a pedestrian being in the roadway is a factor in the crash.

This is the 53rd traffic fatality in 2024 compared to 62 at this time in 2023, according to EPPD.
