North Carolina kidnapping suspect captured in Mississippi

BRANDON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Brandon police arrested an 18-year-old suspect who was wanted in connection to a kidnapping in North Carolina.

Brandon Police Chief Joseph French said his officers received a call for assistance from the Wake County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina on October 21 regarding the suspect’s vehicle. Brandon police were able to locate the vehicle at a business.

Rankin County judge denies motion for new trial in Carly Gregg case

French said Brandon and Pearl police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect fled from officers on Interstate 20. After a brief chase, the vehicle was stopped, and the suspect, Jerry Carredondo-Rocha, was arrested. The missing juvenile was recovered safe inside the vehicle.

Carredondo-Rocha was charged with one count of felony evasion and transported to the Rankin County Jail. French said additional charges from authorities in North Carolina are pending.
