University of Nebraska Medical Center doctors perform new form of ACL surgery

OMAHA, Neb. – Athletes at all levels are all too familiar with ACL tears. More than 400,000 ACL injuries occur every year in the United States in active people and athletes. Doctors at the University of Nebraska Medical Center have started a new form of ACL reconstruction that could possibly benefit many patients in the long run. Traditionally for an ACL tear doctors will use tissue from somewhere else in your body. Like your quad, hamstring or patella tendon.
