Man killed in East Nashville crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) confirmed that a man died following a crash in East Nashville.

Authorities received the call about the crash on Russell Street and South 5th Street at approximately 7:35 p.m. on Monday. Officers on the scene told News 2 that an adult man was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), where he was pronounced deceased.

One witness reported that they saw a Toyota Camry leave the intersection. Authorities are still investigating the crash and could not confirm any possible details about the suspect. However, officers on scene told News 2 that they would likely investigate the crash as a hit-and-run.

No other details were immediately released.
