ROCKY RIVER , Ohio (WJW) — The FOX 8 I-Team has learned that sentencing is set for Wednesday for a Westlake mother who was found guilty of leaving her children home alone while she vacationed in Florida .
According to a Rocky River Municipal Court journal entry, Dominique Knowles was convicted of two counts of endangering children.

On Oct. 9, Knowles opted to have her case heard by a judge, rather than a jury. Judge Joseph Burke found her guilty of both counts.
“The issue here was not whether the two 7-year-olds were fed or clothed while their mother was in Florida,” Judge Burke wrote in his journal entry. “Rather, the issue is whether leaving two 7-year-old minors with their 10-year-old sister while the defendant travelled to Miami, Florida, for three days created a substantial risk of harm to them without adult supervision. The answer is a resounding yes.”
