Early Voting in Cherokee County Tops 40K

Cherokee County’s total number of ballots cast through early and absentee voting surpassed 40,000 over the weekend, numbers from the county’s elections office show.

As of close of polls Sunday, 41,097 Cherokee County voters had cast a ballot, either through early voting or returning an absentee ballot, according to a report from Cherokee County Elections and Voter Registration.

Of those, 37,561 ballots were cast in person at an early voting poll and 3,536 were absentee ballots that have been returned and marked as valid.

Early voting hours are:

♦ 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 through Saturday, Oct. 26

♦ 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1

Cherokee County’s early voting locations are:

♦ Cherokee County Elections and Voter Registration Office — 193 Lamar Haley Parkway in Canton

♦ The Buzz Recreation Center — 7345 Cumming Highway near Canton

♦ Hickory Flat Public Library — 2740 E. Cherokee Dr. in the Hickory Flat Community

♦ Ball Ground Public Library — 435 Old Canton Road in Ball Ground
