Veteran’s Day “Flags For Heroes” contest looking for nominations

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A South Carolina company is looking for people to nominate a veteran ahead of Veteran’s Day three weeks away.

Allegiance Flag Supply is holding a nationwide “Flags For Heroes” contest in hopes of honoring veterans with an American-made American flag.

“We’re asking people to tell us about a Veteran in their lives,” said Katie Lyon, Co-Founder of Allegiance Flag Supply. “It could be a story about their time in the military and how they served, or why they served. I think it could also be how they continue to be a hero in their community after returning to civilian life.”

Allegiance is accepting nominations from across the country through November 10th. The company will select 100 heroes to receive a  3×5’ American Flag set, with poles sourced in Ohio, brackets from Pennsylvania, spinners from Utah, and made by hand in Charleston, SC, in time for Veteran’s Day.
