RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond leaders will vote on the fate of the Greyhound station Tuesday afternoon. This comes as the station is set to close this month .
The Richmond Land Use Committee will decide if Greyhound will now operate out of Main Street Station. A few Greyhounds have been operating there since July, but this would now be all of them that come through Richmond.
Back in 2021, the Connecticut-based company Twenty Lake Holdings bought the Greyhound station property on Arthur Ashe Boulevard across from The Diamond. They plan to turn it into apartments.
This summer, operations moved to Main Street Station in downtown Richmond. Tuesday’s vote will determine if those operations will continue there.
The company Flixbus runs the Richmond Greyhound station, and a source there told 8News they don’t expect any of this to cause service delays.
The meeting starts at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at City Hall, but it won’t solve everything immediately. Richmond City Council plans to vote on the decision in November.
