From land and sea to air and space, the new exhibition at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture brings the history of transportation to life — with more than 1 million LEGO bricks. Think: Gigantic ships, planes, and trains.
We recently visited “Traveling Bricks: An Exhibition Made of LEGO® Bricks,” on display now through Sunday, Jan. 5, to get a first look at the 100+ models of iconic vehicles. Our favorite? The 200,000-piece, 551-pound replica of the Titanic, complete with Jack and Rose. Psst … It’s the exhibition’s largest model.
In addition to the impressive displays , there’s an interactive area where guests can build their own LEGO creations and add them to the exhibition. With 200,000 bricks to choose from, there are plenty of pieces to go around.
Bonus: Catch free LEGO movie screenings — and free after-hours museum admission — during the next three First Fridays (Nov. 1, Dec. 6 + Jan. 3).
