DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Following its largest donation in history, Shriners Children’s Ohio dedicated its inpatient acute care unit in honor of the philanthropists who made it possible.
On Tuesday, Shriners Children’s Ohio received a $11.5 million donation, the largest in its nearly 60-year history. This donation is also among the largest ever received by the organization, which has helped nearly 1.6 million children across the world for 102 years.
The inpatient acute care unit has since been dedicated to the Jursich Care Center to honor the legacy of Robert John Jursich and his beloved wife, Marthe. The center provides world-class pediatric burn, cleft lip and palate and craniofacial care.
“Shriners Children’s Ohio is deeply grateful for Mr. and Mrs. Jursich’s incredible generosity. Because of their support, the Jursich Care Center is a place where life-changing medical care is provided every day,” said Bethany Deines, senior director of philanthropy of Shriners Children’s Ohio.
