DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a shooting over the weekend that killed 17-year-old Edwin Sanchez.
According to police, at around 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, Sanchez and a friend were at Lisbon Park in the 4000 block of Kirk Street, which is in the Gateway – Green Valley Ranch neighborhood.
While in the parking lot of the park, an unknown person approached and shot Sanchez, according to police. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
