Steve Grzanich has the business news of the day with the Wintrust Business Minute. Consolidation of branches is underway at Huntington Bank. Crain’s reports six Huntington branches are being shut down in the Chicago area, including two in Chicago, one in Arlington Heights, one in Oak Lawn and one in Lombard. The bank says it’s consolidating operations of branches with locations less than three miles away. Huntington Bank purchased TCF Bank in 2021. It has about $10 billion in deposits in the Chicago area. The branch closures will happen in January.
