Amarillo man arrested on drug possession charge

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — An Amarillo man was arrested on drug possession charges according to court documents that were filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

According to court documents, Julian Mendoza Arenivar was arrested on Oct. 16 after deputies said they found about 114-pounds of meth in his vehicle.

Court documents said that Potter County Deputies pulled over Mendoza Arenivar after which he consented to a search of the vehicle. Deputies said they found four cardboard boxes with black bags filled with suspect meth. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

According to the Criminal Complaint, Mendoza Arenivar was arrested and charged with a count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamines.”
