Minnehaha County to allow campaign apparel at the polls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The presidential election is officially now only two weeks away.

The Minnehaha County auditor’s office has been busy with an onslaught of absentee voters; 925 Monday alone.

It’s also getting ready by training election workers on how to handle some of the new rules that will affect you when you show up at the polls.

Out of state Amendment H advertisements anger veterans

Class is in session.

More than 60 Minnehaha County election workers are learning about election rules and how to handle election supplies and equipment.

“They have to know the procedures and the laws and everything they’re supposed to do during the day on election day,” Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson said.

Because voters have strong opinions on the issues and the candidates.

“I want my country to be great again,” 18-year-old Ali Viereck said.

Whether it’s a hat or shirt with Donald Trump’s famous slogan, or apparel featuring any other candidate, County Auditor Leah Anderson says you can wear it when you show up at the polls.
