City of Fresno announces $7.4 million paving project

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The City of Fresno announced a $7.4 million paving project through spring.

The city says the project which came in almost 40% under budget will focus on repaving residential streets and key thoroughfares in Fresno.

“This paving project is not just about fixing potholes – it’s about investing in the long-term quality of our roads in Fresno. We are committed to enhancing road safety, reducing vehicle wear and tear, and improving quality of life by building a better Fresno,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer.

A list of neighborhoods and streets included in the paving project are:

  • Dakota – Shields – First – Fresno Neighborhood
  • Browning – Bullard – Millbrook – Ninth Neighborhood
  • Fruit Avenue from Clinton to Dakota
  • Rialto – Marks – Norwich – Valentine Neighborhood
  • Shields – Crystal – Clinton – Hughes Neighborhood
  • Cesar Chavez Boulevard – Maple – Huntington – Chestnut Neighborhood
  • First Street from Sierra to Herndon
  • Echo Avenue from McKinley to Olive

“Prioritizing road maintenance is a key focus for the City Council. I take great pride in knowing that our tax dollars are being reinvested directly into improving the lives of our residents,” said Council President Annalisa Perea.
