Man Accused of DUI and Child Endangerment

German Boanerges Reyes-Mazariegos, 36, of Los Lunas, New Mexico, is accused of driving a white GMC Sierra under the influence of alcohol with an unrestrained six-year-old child and 13-year-old in the vehicle on Sept. 7 at 10:26 p.m. at the intersection of South Cobb Drive and Cochran Road in Marietta, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

Reyes-Mazariegos was observed failing to maintain his lane by crossing the dotted white lane divider with both driver side tires. He admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. Reyes-Mazariegos consented to field evaluations, but refused a blood test, according to the warrant.

Reyes-Mazariegos handed the girl in the front passenger seat an open container to conceal in the passenger’s front door. The girl stated to police that it was not hers. Reyes-Mazariegos also had in his possession a stolen Smith and Wesson .38 special firearm and a half gram of suspected methamphetamine was found in his front left pocket, according to the warrant.
