Teen girl murdered Sonic Drive-In manager after she tried to use counterfeit money to pay for food: Cops

The U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old girl more than three months after she allegedly shot and killed a Sonic Drive-In manager when she tried to pay for food with counterfeit money.

Adiah Namir Roberson was arrested in Dallas. She’s accused of shooting 33-year-old Daniel Shrewsbury to death on July 7 at a Sonic location in San Antonio . Cops say Roberson, 28-year-old Joshua Albert Joseph and a woman went to the fast food joint in northwest San Antonio shortly after 9:30 p.m.

When the group allegedly tried to use fake money, Shrewsbury, the manager, confronted them. Eventually the group used real cash to buy food, but then they took money from a cup. Shrewsbury followed them out as they were leaving to take a photo of their license plate. Joseph, who was driving, became upset and told Shrewsbury he was about to get shot. That’s when Roberson allegedly took out a gun and shot the manager dead.
