Juvenile charged with attempted murder, in critical condition after triple shooting in North Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A juvenile has been apprehended during an investigation of a shooting near Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.

Just before midnight Tuesday, officers said they responded to a shooting outside of the Manhattan Deli near the intersection of Village Drive and Owen Drive, right in front of the hospital.

According to police, three people were shot and transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Police believe that all the people involved were familiar with each other. They also said they’re searching for a fourth person in connection to the incident, but have not said who the person is or how they are involved.

Police said they have submitted a juvenile petition to the Department of Juvenile Justice for one of those subjects, a 17-year-old, for a secured custody order. In the order, the juvenile will be charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a handgun by a minor.
