Alexandria City Public Schools wants to fully revamp its website over the course of the next several months.
The School Board will get a primer on a “comprehensive review and refresh” of the website at their meeting this Thursday night.
“This process is designed to enhance the user experience, ensure accessibility and update content for accuracy across the school division’s website,” staff wrote in a presentation to the Board.
Updates will include:
- Content optimization
- Improved design elements
- Enhanced navigation
- Updated content
- Creation of a best practices document to guide staff in maintaining consistent and clear web content
The project will be divided into five phases from this month until February 2025 with the goals of an “enhanced user experience” with differentiated school websites, multimedia storytelling capabilities and a strengthened school division brand.
The website revamp does not include plans to change the ACPS logo , which the school system has struggled with for years.
