12-year-old struck by vehicle while walking to school bus in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A 12-year-old in Lancaster County was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the street to board their school bus on Wednesday morning, according to the East Cocalico Township Police Department.

Police said officers responded to the intersection of North Reamstown Road and Bunker Hill Road at 7:00 a.m. this morning and found a 12-year-old juvenile lying on the pavement.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck the child remained on the scene.

According to police, the juvenile was attempting to cross the street to board the bus when a car struck them. Multiple witnesses told police that the school bus had red flashing lights and a stop sign out at the time of the collision.

The child was evaluated on the scene and transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, per police.
