(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) released the identity of a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Saturday, Oct. 5, at U.S. 24 Frontage Road and West Cimarron Street, near America the Beautiful Park.
The man was identified as 26-year-old Elijah Stephens.
According to CSPD, officers responded to the scene around 8:45 p.m. where they found a crash involving a car and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The Major Crash Team responded and discovered that the car had been traveling west and was making a southbound turn on Highway 24 Frontage Rd. As the car was turning left, the motorcycle, which was traveling east on Cimarron at high speeds, hit the car in the right front corner. Stephens was thrown from the motorcycle.
CSPD said that alcohol and speed are being considered possible factors in the investigation. The coroner identified Stephens on Monday, Oct. 7.
