CHICAGO — A man is dead and two others are recovering in the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a drive-by shooting near a CTA station on the city’s North Side.
Chicago police said the incident unfolded just before 3 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Howard Street, in Rogers Park, near the Howard CTA station.

Officers said the victims, three men, were all standing near a sidewalk in the area when a vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, striking them all.
According to police, a 29-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his neck, back and abdomen and was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
An 18-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The third victim, a 20-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and taken to the hospital in good condition.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and no arrests have been made.
