Knoxville woman wants answers after Facebook account disabled

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville woman’s Facebook account has been suspended and she doesn’t know why. One thing she does know, her account was not hacked.

Tony Smith and his wife, Carole Anne, are at their wit’s end. They have tried everything they know to do to restore Carole Anne’s account but failed. Carole Anne said she did not receive any message that her Facebook page would be suspended and she’s tried every alternative of getting a code to restore it.

She has lung and brain cancer. On her account are hundreds of family pictures and a memorial video of her late daughter that she can’t access.

Her Facebook account has been disabled for about a month. Tony said they’ve gone back into Facebook and tried to log in to another website, but that failed. He said going to Facebook settings to reactivate the account didn’t work either.

Carole Anne has called tech-savvy friends for suggestions. There’s been no success. She explains what happens when instructed by text to unlock her account.
