Overnight pavement improvement work on 2.5 miles of Bell Road will begin Monday night, Oct. 28, county transportation officials said.
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane closures and possible delays in both directions for pavement preservation work on North 99th Avenue and on West Bell Road in Sun City.
Work on seven miles of 99th Avenue from Olive Avenue to Beardsley Road, began Oct. 18. Overnight work on 2.5 miles of Bell Road from 114th Avenue to Burns Drive begins 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28, according to MCDOT.
The project includes:
- Applying slurry seal to existing asphalt concrete pavement.
- Striping work and pavement markings.
- Other miscellaneous work and cleanup.
On 99th Avenue, one lane will be open to traffic with a pilot car to lead drivers through the construction zone. On Bell Road, one lane will remain open in each direction at all times, officials said.
Work Schedule:
Where: North 99th Avenue between West Olive Avenue and West Beardsley Road.
When: Through the end of the year, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: West Bell Road between North 114th Avenue and North Burns Drive.
When: Monday, Oct. 28, to Friday, Nov. 1, overnight hours from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
