Delaware’s loitering and soliciting statutes will no longer be enforced following ACLU lawsuit

Delaware will no longer enforce its loitering and soliciting statutes after a lawsuit filed by the ACLU of Delaware last year. The ACLU filed the lawsuit on behalf of Food Not Bombs, a mutual aid organization that raises awareness about poverty and hosts public gatherings in Wilmington. The group offers resources and free meals to those in need at the events, and the ACLU says the organization was targeted by law enforcement several times using the statutes.
