WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Tyler Owen Smith has pleaded guilty to aggravated death by motor vehicle in connection to a deadly crash three years ago. The crash claimed the life of Karen Cramer back in October of 2021. Kramer was leaving Independence Mall and turning left onto Independence Boulevard, but then Smith ran the light and hit the side of her vehicle. She was pronounced dead on the scene, and blood tests showed Xanax and Adderall in Smith’s system.
