Farris & Thomas Law Student-Athlete of the Week: Gage Johnson, DASH United

Senior Gage Johnson played a major role in the success of his Downeast Association of Sports for Homeschoolers (DASH) varsity boys soccer team this season, making him this week’s Farris & Thomas Law Student-Athlete of the Week.

Gage, who played nearly everywhere on the back line for the United this season, earned all-tournament acclaim as DASH placed fifth at the North Carolinians for Home Education Athletic Commission tournament over the weekend in Browns Summit. He proved to be a shutdown defender for the United as they went 6-8-1 this fall.

The son of Kristi and Josh Johnson of Clayton, Gage is currently taking 12 hours of Career and College Promise dual-enrollment courses through Johnston Community College. He currently has a 3.35 GPA overall and 4.0 in his high school classes taken at his family’s home school, Sovereign Faith Academy.

Gage works part-time during the school year and full-time in the summer for his family’s business, Johnson Construction.

He is active in two church youth groups in Clayton, attending one at Believers Baptist Church on Sundays and the other Wednesday evenings at Faith Community Church.
