Esteban Jonathan Sanchez, 21, of Austell, is accused of stabbing a woman multiple times with a six-inch kitchen knife on Oct. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at an Austell residence, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.
Sanchez ran from police after being told to stop and laid down in the brush in an attempt to avoid detection and apprehension, according to the warrant.
Sanchez is charged with aggravated assault – intent to murder; possession of firearm/knife during the commission of a crime; and obstruction/hindering law enforcement. He was arrested on Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records.
Sanchez remains in custody without bond.
