Good afternoon everyone. As discussed in this morning’s article, we are beginning to see heavy showers & thunderstorms blossom across parts of the Midwest and Upper Midwest.

A front delivering much cooler air out of Canada, is colliding with relatively warmer and more humid air. This is creating anough lift and convection to help create some heavy thunderstorms across parts of eastern South Dakota, as well as southwest Minnesota.

Within this cluster of thunderstorms, we are seeing locally strong winds, small hail, frequent lightning, and torrential rain. Expect thunderstorms to continue their east/northeast movement towards Minneapolis and eventually into Wisconsin later this evening.

These are also heading to the east/northeast and expected to survive the trip into lower Wisconsin and Illinois.
