DES MOINES, Iowa – Jill Fisher’s husband became a U.S. citizen six years ago. The central Iowan said her husband has legally voted in every election since then, but he’s concerned about additional barriers this election. His concerns stem from arecent audit from the Iowa Secretary of State’s office flagging individuals whose citizenship status is unclear.
