Four-year-old who dreamed of becoming a first responders dies from brain tumor

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL) — The boy who spent the day with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office back in July died early Wednesday morning.

Armon Banks was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor in February of 2023.

He passed around 2:10 Wednesday morning after being transported to Columbus Hospice Tuesday evening according to the boy’s godmother and aunt, who he called Ma.

Armon Banks was a four-year-old boy who had a dream of becoming a first responder, more specifically a sheriff. In July, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office had his dreams of joining the police force come true.

Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman took to Facebook saying, “Our hearts are weighed with sorrow as we learned the passing of our precious little friend, Armon. Words are not adequate to convey what we feel in our hearts right now. We are honored that his family allowed us to share the invaluable moments we shared with Armon. We will always remember the fun we had together and his smile.”
