MARIETTA, Pa. (WHTM) — A global biopharma company just announced that it will be investing up to $800 million to expand its long-time Lancaster County manufacturing facility.
During a press conference earlier today, GSK officials, alongside Governor Josh Shapiro and Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger, announced the investment to expand their existing manufacturing facility in Marietta, Lancaster County.
This multi-million dollar investment, which is GSK’s largest ever in the United States, will be accompanied by an additional $21 million investment from the Commonwealth.

According to GSK, this new investment will be utilized to bring state-of-the-art drug substance manufacturing and additional drug product capabilities to their Marietta facility at 325 North Bridge Street .
Specifically, the new multi-purpose facility will be capable of manufacturing sterile liquid vaccines and medicines. The future facility will also house a state-of-the-art R&D pilot plant to manufacture medicines for clinical trials.
