Father of 10 fatally struck by arrow in Graham identified. His son has been charged

A 54-year-old man who was killed during an alleged argument with his son has been officially identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Yevgeniy Polyashov of Graham died on Oct. 18 near the 24700 block of 64th Avenue East from a penetrating arrow wound to the abdomen, the office said in a news release . Polyashov’s manner of death was listed as a homicide.

Eric Polyashov, 25, was charged Monday with first-degree murder for his father’s death, court records show. He is being held at the Pierce County Jail on a $1.5 million bail.

Eric Polyashov is accused of shooting his father with a bow and arrow at their Graham home. Eric Polyashov allegedly threatened to harm his family members in the past, according to charging documents.

The suspected bow used to shoot Yevgeniy Polyashov has not been located, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Darren Moss told The News Tribune.

Yevgeniy Polyashov was the father of 10 children and had three grandchildren, according to a GoFundMe created to raise funds to support his family . The fundraiser described Yevgeniy Polyashov as a “devoted husband, amazing father and cherished grandfather.”
