SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — There is less than two weeks until election day and before you step up to the voting booth on November 5, here’s what you may need to know.
Checking your registration and polling location
The deadline to register to vote in the 2024 general election already passed on October 21, meaning that it is now too late to register or change your registration for the 2024 election. You can, however, check your registration status by visiting the Voter Information Portal on the SOS website .
This page will tell your registration status, your county, legislative district and more.

The page will include your voting precinct, and tell you the name and address of your polling location for election day.
Checking your sample ballot
You will also be able to view your personal sample ballot on your Voter Information Portal page, which in addition to the issues listed above, may also include local issues and races such as legislative races.
