Man arrested in Lubbock after traffic stop led to two deputies in the hospital

LUBBOCK, Texas — Ramon Flores Jr., 26, was arrested by Lubbock County Sheriff’s deputies on October 2 after injuring two deputies and leading them on a chase East on Lubbock, according to court records obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Wednesday.

An LCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop at 38th Street and Avenue Q on a vehicle driven by Flores for a traffic violation. Flores was driving the vehicle while a female was in the passenger seat. Court records said the deputy requested Flores exit the vehicle, Flores agreed and told the deputy he was a fugitive. The deputy requested Flores provide his driver’s license and proof of insurance to which he said he did not have any form of identification.

The deputy began to arrest Flores because he did not have identifying information and for the traffic stop violation, according to court records. At this time, another deputy arrived to assist. Flores refused to comply with the deputy and began to approach the driver’s side door of the vehicle.
