Pennsylvania State Police Trooper acquitted after involuntary mental health commitment incident

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Pennsylvania State Trooper has been acquitted of his charges after being accused of attempting to forcefully place a woman in an Involuntary Mental Health Commitment, according to court records.

Suspended Trooper Ronald Davis, 38, had a felony strangulation charge dismissed on Oct. 21 by Judge Scott Evans after a bench trial, court docs show. Davis was also found not guilty of unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault and official oppression charges following a bench trial.

Davis was a member of Troop L in Jonestown, and a member of Pennsylvania State Police since 2015. Following the filing of the charges back in September he was suspended without pay.
