Love Boat Theme Singer Jack Jones Dies at 86

Legendary pop singer Jack Jones, known for his smooth vocals, has passed away at the age of 86. Jones battled leukemia for over two years before passing peacefully at a California hospital.

Jones rose to fame in the 1960s with his Grammy-winning singles “Lollipops and Roses” and “Wives and Lovers.” He released numerous albums throughout his career, including the beloved “Love Boat Theme” from the popular TV series.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Jones also appeared in several films, including “Airplane II” and “American Hustle.” He was the son of renowned singer Allan Jones and actress Irene Hervey.

Jones’s passing marks the end of an era for the Great American Songbook, as he was considered the last of the old-school vocalists in the tradition of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.
