FRISCO – The next chapter in the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers rivalry will be written in Week 8, and at least Dallas and receiver CeeDee Lamb have this going for them: They know what to expect from coach Kyle Shanahan’s team.
The 49ers blew the doors off the Cowboys last season in a 42-10 demolition – a continuation of the Niners’ three-game winning streak against Dallas – and that will no doubt be fresh in mind this week as “America’s Team” looks to kickstart its season after an up-and-down start.
The 49ers haven’t been at their best, either, with injuries playing a factor in their 3-4 record, so if there ever was a time for Dallas to slay its bogey team, it’s now.
And Lamb knows exactly what awaits his team on Sunday night.
“They know us, and we know them,” Lamb said. “We’ve seen them the last three years, obviously they’re very physical, we know how they’re going to approach us, we got to match their energy and come ready to play.”
The 49ers have famously bullied the Cowboys in their last few outings, with last season’s loss a shock to the system for Mike McCarthy’s team.
