CPD: Teen shot by man during carjacking in Auburn Gresham

CHICAGO — A teen was shot Thursday morning by a man in Auburn Gresham as 47-year-old was getting carjacked.

Just after 4:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of West 82nd Street a 47-year-old man was inside his vehicle. He was then approached by a group of four males who demanded his vehicle and discharged a chemical agent on him.

The man, who has a valid concealed carry license, fired at least one shot from his gun.

One of the males, a 16-year-old, was shot in the left knee and had a graze wound to the left arm.

He was transported to Christ Hospital in fair condition. The other three stole the man’s Toyota Camry and fled eastbound.

It’s unknown if the teen is facing charges at this time.

The 47-year-old man was treated on scene.
